In its inaugural campaign in Enugu State, COA-CONE Burns organised a safety awareness programme at Achara Layout Primary School. This outreach engaged 150 pupils and 13 teachers, delivering critical lessons on burn prevention and safety through a child-friendly approach.
The outreach team combined fun visuals, interactive storytelling, and demonstrations to teach the children about the dangers of fire and hot substances and the importance of being cautious in their daily lives. Simple first-aid steps were taught through songs and demonstrations, ensuring that the information was memorable for them.
The pupils were actively engaged, and the teachers appreciated the child-friendly approach used. To reinforce learning, the pupils were asked questions to ensure they understood the importance of staying safe, and they gave impressive answers, much to the amazement of the teachers and the campaign team. Gifts were distributed as a reward for their wonderful cooperation and interaction.
